Each year, Mitchell hosts a week-long immersion into the Mitchell agency experience. We call it BIG BREAK: DISCOVERING DIVERSE TALENT.
The Big Break program allows a select group to learn from agency leaders while building their resume and collaborating with students from across the country on a project for a non-profit client.
This is the 8th year of Big Break and we have 7 students from multiple schools.
In honor of #ThrowBackThursday, we wanted to go back through some highlights of Big Break over the years and where some of our Big Breakers are now.

“My experience in the program was amazing. I learned so much about public relations and agency life and got to know some really fantastic PR professionals along the way… And the most incredible thing: this internship led to my career! Shortly after my graduation in May of 2015, I got a call from Mitchell about a job and have been with the company ever since. I’ve had varying positions throughout my almost four years here - from assisting with local media relations on the Walmart team to now managing a piece of national media relations for Sam’s Club. I’ve done everything from traveling to Walmart locations across the nation to train associates in customer service, to maintaining client relations in here NWA. I feel like I’ve already had a million incredible experiences at Mitchell, and I can’t wait for more!”

“First and foremost, my internship at Mitchell was great! I was able to fully understand how marketing and public relations case studies actually work. Being able to interact with the other interns was truly a rewarding experience. Since I was he only Journalism major there, I felt some what out of place at first, but once I understood the different roles that each and everyone of us played while executing our communications plan, I realized that team work truly makes the dream work. Each and everyone of us had a role to play with our project, and we all were able to take constructive criticism quite well, especially since I believed that we were all there to learn and gain hands on experience.”
