Mitchell Launches Young Filmmakers Short Pitch Competition at the Bentonville Film Festival, May 5-9, 2015

Young Filmmakers Short Pitch Competition

Mitchell Communications Group (Mitchell), a proud sponsor of the first-ever Bentonville Film Festival (BFF), is looking for imaginative young filmmakers 21 and under to pitch a short film concept at the Mitchell booth during the festival. Entrants will have 30 seconds to deliver a creative pitch for producing a film over the next 12 months.

“Mitchell is an agency with an entrepreneurial and creative spirit at its core,” said Sarah Clark, president of Mitchell and a BFF juror. “We are proud to support the Bentonville Film Festival by launching a young filmmakers pitch competition to inspire the next generation of visual storytellers.”

Young Filmmakers Short Film CompetitionThe pitch should support the BFF mission to be a positive and proactive influence in filmmaking and champion women and diversity in film. A pitch can be fact or fiction, comedy or drama, news or documentary. There are no limits on the creativity of a competitor’s presentation.

Pitches will be recorded and judged by senior Mitchell leaders. The winner will receive a prize package valued at more than $3,000, including a $500 cash prize, senior level consultation for development of a short film, one day of training or production assistance from the Mitchell Creative practice’s video production team and a 2016 All Access Pass to the Bentonville Film Festival.

The competition will be held at the Mitchell booth in the Sponsor Village between the 21C Hotel and Compton Gardens near the Bentonville Square, open between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. (CT) Tuesday through Saturday during the festival. Entries will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2015.

“This region is known for producing talented entrepreneurs and creative innovators that have changed entire industries,” said Clark. “Mitchell is proud to be part of a tradition of combining strong local roots with a global reach.” Mitchell is aiming the competition at regional talent during the inaugural festival and plans to scale it nationally next year.
