FAYETTEVILLE, Ark., November 1, 2017Mitchell Communications Group has named current agency president, Sarah Clark, to serve as CEO, as current CEO and agency founder Elise Mitchell assumes the role of chairman. Both roles are effective January 1, 2018.  Mitchell will retain her role as CEO of the Dentsu Aegis Public Relations Network. Both Clark and Mitchell will report to Nick Brien, CEO Americas, Dentsu Aegis Network.

“It is an ideal time for Sarah to step into this role,” said Mitchell. “The agency is thriving. We have been transforming ourselves for a digitally centric marketplace, we’ve launched several new products and had significant new business wins this year. Sarah’s leadership has been instrumental in lifting the agency to the next level over the past few years in so many ways.  I know she will continue to lead Mitchell to even greater things in the years to come.”

“We are delighted to have both Sarah and Elise take on these new roles at Mitchell,” said Brien.  “The agency is the flagship PR firm for Dentsu Aegis Network, and rightly so. They have built a strong leadership team and a highly successful business that continues to grow and evolve. They have also worked hard to nurture the agency’s unique, entrepreneurial culture that has helped Mitchell attract and keep world-class clients and talent.”

Clark has been with the agency since 2010. She joined as senior vice president and chief strategy officer and was named president in 2013 when Mitchell sold to Dentsu. Under Clark’s leadership, the company has experienced double-digit growth over the past five years and she led efforts to expand the company’s presence in North America, including opening a New York office. Clark has established an integrated model of service delivery enabling richer innovative thinking and problem solving on behalf of clients. Additionally, she spearheaded the development of new product offerings such as Ripple, Mitchell’s micro-influencer marketing program, and Whirl, the company’s content marketing program.

Prior to Mitchell, Clark served as an industry and media relations expert in the corporate arena, both as a senior member of the Walmart corporate communications team and an officer of the company. Her efforts helped redefine how the company was perceived as an employer and gained Walmart recognition for its leadership in health care, environmental sustainability and economic opportunity.

“Sarah is uniquely qualified to lead the agency into the future,” added Mitchell. “She brings an invaluable client perspective to everything we do. She is an established thought leader in corporate communications, has a great strategic mind and is a proven change agent. Most of all, she is a culture champion for the agency. I could not be more pleased to see her step into the CEO role and will look forward to supporting her as the agency continues to evolve.”

Mitchell was founded in 1995.  It has been named Agency of the Year twice and a Top 10 Fastest Growing PR Firm globally. The agency was also twice named an Inc. 500/5,000 Fastest Growing Company and a “50 Fastest Growing Women Owned/Led Companies in North America” by Women Presidents’ Organization and American Express OPEN.
