FAYETTEVILLE, AR – July 24, 2013 – Building on its momentum of 530 percent growth over the past five years, Mitchell Communications Group announced today the opening of new offices in New York and Chicago. Several strategic hires have been made to lead these offices, and work is already under way on behalf of both new and existing clients.
“Elise [Mitchell] and her team have built a unique and competitive offering that has proven very valuable to clients,” said Tim Andree, president and CEO, Dentsu Network. “As part of the Dentsu Network, Mitchell Communications Group can expand its reach and accelerate its growth, serving more clients in more places with their best-in-class approach. The New York and Chicago offices are two great steps forward.”
The agency has received numerous awards for its work and growth. Most recently, Mitchell was named a 2013 Top 10 fastest growing agency globally by The Holmes Report and is listed as a 2013 Top 50 U.S. agency by PRWeek. The agency’s distinctive and expanding client portfolio includes: Walmart U.S., Sam’s Club, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, DoubleTree by Hilton, Procter & Gamble, J.B. Hunt, Tyson Foods, Southwestern Energy and more. In January, Mitchell Communications was the first public relations firm to be acquired by Dentsu.
“We’re so proud of the opportunities we’ve had to serve our clients – to help them grow their businesses, and connect and engage with their audiences in new and exciting ways,” said Elise Mitchell, CEO, Mitchell Communications Group. “This is what we see as the greatest potential for our future.”
The opening of offices at 32 Avenue of the Americas in New York and at 515 N. State St. in Chicago establishes an on-the-ground presence and closer collaboration with partner agencies mcgarrybowen, 360i and others, as Dentsu builds out a full-service offering that now includes public relations. To staff its new offices, Mitchell has made a number of strategic new hires and transferred existing employees from Northwest Arkansas. New hires include:
- Sarah Larsen, a former senior vice president with Ogilvy Public Relations, will serve as general manager and senior vice president for the Chicago office.
- Tracy Shea, who has designed digital and social strategies for household brands such as Disney, General Mills, Hard Rock and Pfizer, is vice president of digital and social strategy for the firm. He is in the New York office.
- Dee Bhambhani, previously a senior account supervisor with Hill+Knowlton Strategies, has been named director in the New York office.
The agency will continue to draw upon the broad expertise of its client service and shared service teams based in Northwest Arkansas, including: creative and digital; research and insights; training, coaching and facilitation; and editorial services.
“Mitchell Communications Group has won the respect – and the business – of many decision-makers throughout Walmart during our 15-year relationship,” said David Tovar, vice president of corporate communications at Walmart. “Over the years they have built world-class capabilities and an impressive talent pipeline while always maintaining their long-standing commitment to serve their clients and deliver outstanding results.”
“We believe there’s an abundance of opportunity to serve clients who want scale and consistency both nationally and around the world,” said Sarah Clark, president, Mitchell Communications Group. “We have a lot of momentum, and we’re working hard to keep that going. Our expansion in New York and Chicago is a natural next step for us.”
